Maple

Maple is a high-growth suburban community, part of the city of Vaughan, Ontario in York Region, northwest of Toronto, Ontario. It does not have clear boundaries, as the size has grown over recent years, previously classified as a village.

A highlight of the area is Canada's Wonderland, a major attraction for all ages during the warmer months. Canada's Wonderland is an Amusement Park that has entrances in Maple and Concord, featuring rides and games. Maple is a residential area, relatively young compared to other areas of Vaughan.

Aside from Canada's Wonderland Amusement Park, Maple has multiple outdoor trails and parks accessible throughout the entire year. Mackenzie Glen District Park and Maple Airport Park are large recreational parks with splash-pads, soccer fields and picnic areas. All of these locations in Maple serve as the perfect day out.  

History

The founding families of Maple were the Noble and the Rupert families.  They named the village Maple after the abundance of Maple trees in the area. The area started to grow after the Ontario, Huron, and Simcoe Railway was built. Maple was a great agricultural area and with its close proximity to Toronto it attracted more residents to the area.
