Formerly East York, Old East York now encompasses the southern, urban portion of the area. It is separated from Old Toronto by the Don River (west), located between Taylor-Massey Creek on the north, and Victoria Park Avenue in the east. Originally populated by British and Irish decent, it is now home to a much more varied group of ethnicities including Greek, Bangladeshi, and Chinese. Midtown orientated, Old East York is close to some great places in Toronto both in the neighbourhood and surrounding it.

In the area find a diverse array of restaurants, from Indian, Chinese, Turkish and Middle Eastern foods. For something sweet, visit Hansen's Danish Pastry Shop to try cakes, breads and pastries that have been around for over 50 years! Homes are built on large land, near beautiful parks, rivers and lakes to relax away from the busy city life.
Transit
Old East York is serviced by all subway stations from Broadview to Woodbine station along the Bloor Danforth line. There are also multiple bus routes for another option. Seniors or persons with physical disabilities have access to door-to-door accessible transit service through Wheel-Trans or Toronto Ride.
Parks & Recreation
Located near the Don River, there is plenty of greenery and recreational activities to take part in. Visit or take the kids to one of the multiple skateparks in the area, get involved in one of the residential soccer or baseball games, or stroll through Thorncliffe Park to find a mural painted by the women's committee.
