L'Amoreaux was a neighbourhood in the former city of Scarborough, until the amalgamation of Toronto in 1998. It is located at the north end of Toronto, between Victoria Park Avenue and Kennedy Road. Named after Josue L'Amoreaux, a French Huguenot loyalist, the area is home to tree-lined streets, family home and popular landmarks including Bridlewood Mall and Ontario Hydro Fields.
L’Amoreaux
L'Amoreaux is a suburban, residential area with a range of single-family detached homes dating from 1950, and multiple mid to high-rise apartment buildings and condominiums. Although the French population is now sparse, the neighbourhood still contains multiple nationalities and diverse culture.
Schools
There are multiple elementary schools in L'Amoreaux, including Beverly Glen Junior and Brookmill Junior Public School, as well as Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Academy. Two public secondary schools also operate in the area, L'Amoreaux Collegiate Institute and Sir John A.Macdonald Collegiate Institute.
