Bayview Village is bordered by Don River on the east, and Sheppard Avenue East in the South. It is part of the federal Don Valley North riding and the provincial Willowdale electoral district. The design and layout of Bayview Village is very much influenced by the East Don Valley Parklands. Homes were built between 1954 and 1964, with a mixed style of bungalows, split-level houses, and Georgian Revival-style homes, now renovated and infilled with newer models. There are also multiple high-rise developments built, and continuing to be built along Sheppard Avenue.
Bayview Village
Within the area, there are 3 very popular landmarks being the Bayview Village Shopping Centre, containing over 110 haute retail options, the North York YMCA, and the East Don Valley Parklands. Bayview Village is an uptown neighbourhood, with an overall vibrant feel of city life. With increasing demand, upscale condos have been and are continuing to be established throughout the neighbourhood. However it is still a very residential area, filled with scenic green spaces and community.
Transit
There are regular TTC buses on route 85 between Yonge Street and Don Mills, along with three subway stops along Sheppard Avenue East.
Parks & Recreation
The western edge of the East Don Parklands is centred within Bayview Village, offering trails and walkways, preservation programs and wildlife. Other smaller parks include Alamosa Park, Leslie Park, and Bayview Village Park which features tennis courts and a children's playground. Outside of parks there are some great shopping options, libraries and bustling restaurants.
